COMPETITIONS
Artbox aims to reduce graffiti on Gold Coast City’s traffic signal boxes, bringing fun and character to the neighbourhoods and supporting local artists, as part of a graffiti prevention strategy.
My artwork, 'Sun-Kissed Feathers' was selected as one of the winners for 2025. It was installed on the traffic signal box on the corner of Scarborough and Nind Street, Southport (as seen in the photo below.)
This design was handdrawn using Procreate before being finalised using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

GOLD COAST CITY COUNCIL
ARTBOX 2026
In early March2026, I once again entered the GCCC Artbox Competition, with my new design called 'Tropical Surf'.
This design was handdrawn using Procreate before being finalised using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

ART STRIKES BACK 2025
My artwork, 'Indigo Sparks' won first place in the Redhead Matches 80th Anniversary “Art Strikes Back” Design Competition in August 2025. The competition invited creatives to design artwork for limited-edition, iconic Australian matchboxes, exploring themes such as celebrating Redheads' place in Australian culture, sparking a vision for the next 80 years and/or reimagining the iconic Ms Redhead.
I wanted to creatively combine, using a double exposure method, a redesigned look for Ms Redhead and how Australians commonly use Redhead matches for, and for me personally, as a camper, I use redhead matches for starting a toasty campfire in wintertime, surrounded by our native bushland, watching the night sky with my family. I wanted the redesigned Ms Redhead to represent the beauty of Indigenous Australians, and using Cindy Rostron as my reference, I incorporated her striking features into the final look. When choosing the colours, I love the irony of how Australian's call redheads "Blueys", and I liked how striking the shades of indigo blue contrasted with the bright red. I wanted the attention to be firstly on Ms Redhead, then you slowly see the nighttime camping scene hidden in her flaming hair.
I designed 'Indigo Sparks' using Procreate and Adobe Illustrator.

'POLLINATE' HONEY LABEL
In late 2025, I entered my artwork 'Bee Nouveau' into the Beechworth 'Pollinate' Honey Label Competition, where I had to show the importance of bees to nature and to our food.
This design was firstly drawn in Procreate, I then edited the final design using Adobe illustrator.
THE PAPER BIRD ILLUSTRATION EXHIBITION & AWARD
The Paper Bird Illustration Exhibition and Thames & Hudson Illustration Award celebrates stories in art, recognising the growing interest in illustration and the significance of visual literacy. Their 2026 theme was flight.
'The Masters of Flight' series, three designs, was inspired by my two rambunctious sons.
The first, 'Look to the Sky' is a captured moment of childlike wonderment. How often do children look up at a plane and wonder how they could they fly.
With a trusty pencil, an empty refrigerator box and some duct tape, this scene, the second of the series, shows a ‘Flight Plan’ being formulated by these two masterminds.
3,2,1 ‘Take Off’! With faith in their cardboard wings and a strong kick off the tin roof, this scene captures the joyous fun of a crazy idea. The third and main artwork from the series, along with the other two, were all traditionally hand drawn using pastel pencils, ink and paint markers on a kraft paper medium.

BLUE SQUARE ART EXHIBITION
I have recently entered the Arthead 9th annual Blue Square Exhibition 2026. The competition theme is set around the colour blue. The competition also helps CanAssist Southern Highlands in their mission to provide vital support to those living with cancer.
My artwork, 'True Blue' is centered around the country folk who live and work in the Southern Highlands of NSW. Starting off the design was the colour blue, which I found in the Australian native flower, Lechenaultia biloba, also called true blue. The Kookaburra is the NSW animal emblem. The daffodil flower is the recognised symbol for cancer. The Southern Highlands logo is engraved on the necklace. Subtle hints that combined together to create the final artwork.
'True Blue' was fully painted using Procreate and then finalised using Adobe Photoshop.

'WHAT'S ON' MAGAZINE 2012
I was one of the four winners for the Gold Coast Arts Centre 'What's On' Magazine Cover competition in 2012 which celebrated the 25th Anniversary opening of the Arts Centre.
I jumped behind the camera for this photoshoot and then, using Adobe Photoshop, I manipulated paint splashes onto the model for a unique and creative design, while capturing the drama and flair showcased on the stage, with the cupcake being a nod towards its 25th Birthday.
